synopsis
Mixing slasher-style scenes w/ the sweetness of an afterschool special, ANGEL is one of the seminal exploitation films of the 80s. Molly Stewart (Donna Wilkes; Jaws 2) is at the top of her class at her prestigious high school, but no one knows that Molly survives by working nights as a hooker on Hollywood Blvd. Her only friends are a worldly drag queen, a retired cowboy movie star, and her cantankerous landlady (Susan Tyrrell; Cry Baby). However, her world falls apart when a depraved serial killer (John Diehl; Miami Vice) begins targeting LA’s streetwalkers. As more women fall victim to the killer, Molly realizes it’s up to her and her misfit friends to take on the maniac before they too find themselves in his murderous sights! Co-starring Dick Shawn (The Producers), Rory Calhoun (Motel Hell), and Cliff Gorman (All That Jazz).
