The Night Flight team was saddened to hear about the passing of Jimmy Cliff on November 24th, 2025. Jimmy was a musical pioneer and a legend. In his original Night Flight interview, Cliff reflects on the global influences that shaped his sound, his “shepherd’s role” in bringing reggae to new audiences, and the lasting impact of The Harder They Come. We were honored to host Cliff in our studio back in 1982 (Night Flight's lead writer Stuart Samuels conducted the interview), and proud to have championed reggae music videos on television long before they appeared anywhere else.
