synopsis
On the Air Live with Captain Midnight tells the story of high school teen Ziggy Ziegler (played by Tracy Sebastian, the son of the writer/director duo Ferd & Beverly Sebastian, best known as the team behind the exploitation hit Gator Bait) who becomes a pirate radio DJ after taking over the FM airwaves and the L.A. streets in his custom van. The movie (finished in 1977, but not theatrically screened until '79) features a full-on '70s rock soundtrack (with lots of Ted Nugent barnstormers), a cameo by FM radio deejay legend Jim Ladd, and a finale shot at the Magic Mountain amusement park a year before 1978's KISS Meets the Phantom of the Park.
