synopsis
Lee Abrams was beamed down from the Mother Ship to Chicago, Illinois in 1952. He’s a media maverick and industry icon who is credited with conceiving and developing the free form album rock radio format first at WQDR in Raleigh, North Carolina and thereafter implemented by hundreds of stations across the country. We met in 1994 when I was asked to be Alice Cooper’s sidekick for a two-week airwave experiment called “Alice’s Attic” on Dallas based, Z Rock,,the satellite precursor to the revolutionary XM Satiate Network, which he co-founded. Poised to launch his latest greatest informative interactive adventure, Newsfix, we rendezvoused at his hometown’s most timeless tube steak stand for a quick dog and juicy dialogue.
