synopsis
San Francisco psych rock band Moon Duo, composed of Ripley Johnson and Sanae Yamada began playing and recording together in 2009, making their Sacred Bones debut with the EP Killing Time that year. The pair have continued touring, recording, exploring “all things Magick and supernatural” while incorporating new sounds and elements to their music, the 2019 album Stars Are the Light brought in sonic aspects from disco, madchester and 90s rave music while dialing back their use of the guitars mechanical rhythms.
